Get Ready to Flex Those Mental Math Muscles!
We are thrilled to announce that this Wednesday, March 25, our students will be joining millions of others around the globe for World Maths Day 2026!
Since 2007, this event has united over 10 million students from more than 160 countries to celebrate the wonder of numbers. Our "mathletes" are ready to dive into the world’s largest online maths competition, and we can't wait to see them shine!
What is World Maths Day?
World Maths Day is a high-energy, international event powered by the Mathletics platform. It’s all about speed, accuracy, and—most importantly—having fun with mathematics!
On Wednesday, students will log in to compete in Live Mathletics. Here’s how it works:
The 60-Second Dash: Students race against the clock to answer as many questions as possible in just one minute.
Global Competitors: Your child will be matched in real-time with up to three other students of similar ability from schools across the world.
The Official Score: While the learning lasts all day, only the points from a student's first 20 games count toward their official World Maths Day score and the global Hall of Fame!
Practice Makes Perfect
Students can prepare right now by logging into their Mathletics accounts. They can explore various levels to sharpen their skills, from basic addition to complex algebra and logic.
Pro-Tip for Students: Find your "inner mathlete" and trust your fingers! Whether you use the "Two Hander" or the "Accountant" typing style, remember that confidence is the key to success.
Join the Celebration!
We encourage everyone to get involved:
Dress Like a Mathlete: We invite students to dress up in anything maths-related on Wednesday!
Share the Spirit: If you’re snapping photos of the fun, tag them with #WMD2026 on social media to join the global conversation.
We are so proud of our students for taking on this global challenge. Let’s make this a day to remember!
Good luck to all our Vanguard mathletes!
