We believe in fostering a love for learning in everyone, and our diverse offerings reflect that mission.
All our events are held right here at Vanguard Gifted Academy, located at 1078 E Wilson in Batavia, IL 60510. Get ready for a year of discovery, empowerment, and fun!

Fox River Valley Math Circle
When: Select Saturdays: September 6, October 4, November 1, December 6, January 10, February 7, March 7, April 11, and May 2
Time: 10:10 AM - 12:12 PM
Open To: K-5 Students & Grown-ups
Join us for a hands-on math adventure! This free program nurtures a love for math through engaging problem-solving, games, and puzzles. Grown-ups can even participate in separate puzzle activities!
Quarterly Showcase
When: October 8th, December 17th, March 4th, May 13th
Time: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Come and witness the incredible projects and learning journeys of our students! Our showcases reflect our dedication to guiding gifted children towards discovery, empowerment, and innovation through personalized, authentic learning experiences.
Veterans Day 3D Design Challenge
When: Thursday, November 6, 2025
Time: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Open To: K-5 Students
Show your appreciation for veterans by creating a digital 3D model of a wearable pin! The pins will be 3D printed and distributed to the Batavia VFW & Auxiliary. Plus, 4th and 5th graders can even enter a national contest with amazing prizes, including a trip to Columbus, OH, and a 3D printer for their school!
Future Creature Art Contest
When: Thursday, December 4, 2025
Time: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Open To: K-5 Students
Imagine how rainforest animals might adapt to climate change in the future! K-5 students will draw both present and future illustrations with a short description. Entries can also be submitted to the national Future Engineers contest.
Julia Robinson Math Festival
When: May 2nd
Time: 12:12 PM - 2:12 PM
Open To: All Ages
Experience the joy of math through engaging, open-ended activities! This festival helps build confidence and a sense of belonging around math, encouraging play, growth from mistakes, and collaboration over competition.
Challenge Your Skills: Public Math Competitions!
For those who love a good challenge, we're also hosting these exciting math competitions:
Math Kangaroo
When: Thursday, March 19, 2026
Format: In-person session (5:00 PM - 6:30 PM) & Online session (7:00 PM - 8:30 PM)
Cost: $19
Open To: K-12 Students
Sign-up Deadline: December 31st
This international competition promotes problem-solving, logical reasoning, and critical thinking, helping students gain confidence and improve their math scores. Sign up directly on the Math Kangaroo site!
Noetic Math Contest
When: November 13th (Fall) & April 2nd (Spring)
Cost: $10 per person
Grade Levels: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade level
Open To: K-5 Students
Fall Sign-up Deadline: October 23rd
Spring Sign-up Deadline: March 12th
Dive into engaging math problems tailored to specific grade levels. Top performers can earn National Honor Roll medals or Honorable Mention ribbons, and every team's top scorer receives a Team Winner medal!
